5,000–plus cross-strait patent priority applications received

  On December 14, Taiwan Affairs Office under State Council released that after the signing of "Cross-Strait Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement" and "Cross-strait IPR Protection Agreement" in 2010, the two sides handled over 5,000 patent priority applications in the three quarters of this year.

  From January to November, State Intellectual Property Office received 10,106 invention patent applications submitted from Taiwan and 5,614 invention patent applications were authorized in the same period. 326 patent applications were filed through the channel of "Patent Cooperation Treaty" (PCT). In the first three quarters of this year, Taiwan received 2,113 patent priority applications from the Mainland and submitted 2,939 to SIPO.

  State Administration for Industry and Trademark Office recently identified two brands of Taiwan as Famous Trademark. So far 14 Taiwanese brands have been identified as well-known trademarks.

  The mainland also approved the introduction of five Taiwanese films, two of which have been shown in cinemas.
